Sunfire Ceramics 4-H and Scouts
Basic Ceramics Workshop

Sunfire will help 4-H and Scout members to learn about the Ceramic Process of Slip Casting Molds, Cleaning Greenware, and Using Glazes to Paint Ceramics. The Kiln and Firing will also be shown and explained.

	Learn how Ceramic pieces are made Starting with the Liquid Clay Slip being Poured into Plaster Ceramic Molds.
	Experience Cleaning Ceramics by using Pottery Tools to scrape and smooth the Seam Lines left from the Molds.
	Learn the technique of using Glazes to Paint a Ceramic work and achieve desired results.
	Learn about the kiln and see the process of glazing the work and loading the Ceramics into the Kiln for Firing.

The cost of this Basic Ceramics Workshop is $12.

Projects can be used for 4-H Fair or for Badge completion.

The Painted Ceramics works are ready to pick up in 3-5 days.
